BREAKING. TopTV restructuring; employees are getting options but nobody has been retrenched or fired.

You're reading it here first.

South Africa's newest pay TV platform is restructuring 8 months after it started its commercial pay TV service but TopTV stresses that employees have been given options, that there's been no retrenchments yet and that no staff's been fired.

TopTV that confirmed to me that On Digital Media (ODM) is restructuring, says the business that recently announced that it has signed up 200 000 subscribers since May isn't struggling and ''has gone from a start-up phase to being fully operational''. TopTV says this has ''necessitated a relook at our structure which we are currently undergoing''.

''We haven't been notified of any retrenchments at this stage,'' says Elouise Kelly, ODM chief marketing officer. ''People are being given options. I can't say what will happen, but there haven't been retrenchments. People are able to have their say about options and up to now regarding retrenchments there haven't been a single one. Nobody have been affected in this way, if at all, during this restructuring process,'' she says.
