On Digital Media's StarSat acquires Bundesliga and Italian Serie A soccer league rights; adds football channels.


On Digital Media (ODM) and StarTimes Media SA has added sport channels to the StarSat satellite pay-TV platform as it secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the Bundesliga for 5 years.

The StarSat Sport channels will show the 306 games of the 2015/2016 Bundesliga season. StarSat subscribers will get 9 live matches per match day.

The Bundesliga will be carried on the channels ST World Football (StarSat 244), ST World Football HD (StarSat 245), ST Sports Premium (StarSat 242), ST Sports Premium (StarSat 246), ST Sports (StarSat Sport Life 243) and ST Sports Arena (StarSat 241) which was previously the ST Sport 2 channel.

StarSat has also signed an exclusive 2-year deal with the Serie A Italian soccer league, starting on Saturday 22 August with the opening game between Hellas Verona vs Roma broadcast at 18:00 on the World Football (StarSat 244) channel.

StarSat will have approximately 5 live games per weekend across the ST World Football and ST World Football HD, ST Sports Premium and ST Sports Premium HD, and ST Sports Arena channels.
