M-Net acquires Danish relationship drama, Ride Upon the Storm, from StudioCanal.

M-Net (DStv 101) has acquired the Danish relationship drama, Ride Upon the Storm, from the French company, StudioCanal, following a family of priests that traces their roots back more than 250 years.

M-Net also acquired the German period drama, Babylon Berlin from Beta Films.

Ride Upon the Storm, produced by DR Drama in cooperation with the French-German network ARTE France and SAM le Francais, revolves around the Krogh family of priests in Denmark in 2017, Johannes - heading for the top as the Bishop of Copenhagen, Elisabeth and their sons August and Christian.

Johannes (Lars Mikkelsen) is God-like to his sons, but his favouritism for August and his disappointment with Christian forces both into making desperate choices in order to either gain his love or break free from him.

Their paths lead into war and encounters between different religions, seen through the intimate lens of a family drama.
