The Afrikaans lifestyle magazine show, DeKat, returns for a 7th season; jumps yet again to a new channel, this time SABC2.

The Afrikaans lifestyle magazine show DeKat, from the similarly named magazine, is returning for a 7th season, yet again jumping to a new TV channel when it starts on Wednesday 18 April at 19:30 on SABC2, retaining Chris Chameleon as the host.

The avant garde DeKat that started out on SABC3 in 2009 before jumping to kykNET in 2011 is back on the South African public broadcaster, making its debut for the first time on SABC2 after kykNET that already had Kwêla added its own now-ended Flits, as well as Bravo!, leaving little space on its line-up the eclectic DeKat.

The show will once explore creativity and all forms of art - from extraordinary travels to profiles and interviews with influential South African personalities, as well as dish up extraordinary celebrations and recipes for "art on a plate".

Whilst retaining Chris Chameleon (real name Chris Mulder), DeKat is adding Charlene Brouwer as a style insert presenter, Piet Matipa as an art insert presenter, Gerard Scholtz as a book insert presenter and Chantel Dartnall as a food insert presenter.

"Viewers can start preparing themselves for a visual feast when our brand new series kicks off," says Elzilda Becker, executive producer of the show and editor and publisher of DeKat magazine.

"You are invited to take your place in our lounge and be transported to our magical world of books, food, art, style and entertainment. We are excited to be sharing the DeKat world and adventure with the large target market of SABC2."
